Enphase Energy Launches The Next-Generation Envoy-S In Europe
Enphase Energy has taken a major step forward with the launch of its EnvoyS. The next-generation Envoy-S gateway serves as the control of the Enphase Home Energy Solution, an integrated, scalable platform for solar generation, control, energy management and storage. Featuring enhanced hardware and software, the new gateway enables more cost-effective and reliable solar installations while adding significant value for system owners.
Rugged and reliable with a standard 5-year warranty, Envoy-S offers energy usage insights, remote update capabilities and load management. Designed to work with all Enphase microinverters, Envoy-S features consumption monitoring, increased metering accuracy, flexible networking options including integrated Wi-Fi and optional cellular connectivity via Orange's machine-to-machine (M2M) technology.

"As a key part of our connected solution, Envoy-S delivers solar production and energy consumption data that helps consumers manage their energy usage more efficiently and intelligently and enables them to size and add an Enphase Storage System at a later stage."
Enphase is also introducing Enphase Mobile Connect™, a cellular modem that delivers independent Internet connectivity, eliminating the need for a broadband connection at the site. The Enphase Mobile Connect is shipped with a 5-year pre-paid data service provided by Orange, with full international roaming, enabling it to connect to best available cellular network at the site. To simplify installation, the Enphase Mobile Connect is pre-configured and connects to the Envoy-S USB port using a single cable for both power and data directly, removing the need for additional wiring. Installers can now ensure that reliable Internet connectivity is consistent and independent of the Internet setup in the home.
The new Envoy-S is set up using the Enphase Installer Toolkit, a mobile app for smart phone and tablets (iOS and Android devices) designed to make installations easier, faster and more efficient. By using the toolkit, installers can quickly configure the Envoy-S, commission the system and confirm its success before they leave the site. This improves operational efficiency, increases productivity and saves labour costs for the on-site installation team while increasing quality.
