Leading electrical and renewables distributor, Rexel UK, has introduced the world's smartest home energy monitor, Smappee, to its domestic product offering to meet the ever-changing needs of the modern market.
Smappee monitors real-time data on household energy use, and provides the cost of all of the important running appliances in the home "“ giving homeowners a true depiction of their energy behavior. By creating greater transparency in this way, it is estimated homeowners could save up to 30 per cent on their electricity bill through using the device.
The device wirelessly syncs the energy use data with its free tablet and smartphone app, meaning users can monitor and control their home remotely, wherever they are. The free app even provides helpful tips and advice on how users can save energy based on their previous usage.
Crucially for installers, Smappee offers fast, fuss-free installation, and simply connects to the property's fuse box with a clip-on sensor. As an value added benefit, Smappee can be linked to other home automation devices such as lighting controls, and can even be used to monitor the energy generated from any solar PV systems installed at the property.
