Lark Energy Sets Up New Commercial Rooftop Business
Lark Energy has set up a new company to focus on its commercial solar activities. Lark Energy Commercial will build on the parent company's significant experience in the commercial, agricultural and public sectors.
Lark Energy's existing team has already completed over 750 commercial rooftop installations and has been joined by an experienced team of sales, design and construction professionals who have delivered over 30MWp of corporate rooftop projects for blue-chip clients.
Lark Energy Commercial will provide an integrated service across corporate, public and agricultural sectors offering both design and build for self-funding clients and innovative fully funded products. The company will operate initially from four new offices across the UK "“ London, Solihull, Peterborough and Edinburgh.
The new division will be led by Jonathan Selwyn, Lark Energy's MD, supported by Adrian Cecconi as Commercial Director and Julie Rankin as Operations Director.
As well as leading the new commercial division, Jonathan Selwyn will continue to provide strategic policy leadership for the company through activities such as his board position at the Solar Trade Association.
Lark Energy's large scale business will continue with its solar farm development activities led by Jo Wall, EPC led by Paul Adams and Operations and Maintenance led by Richard Jackson.
Lark Energy's development business will also incorporate other existing renewable technologies. At the same time, Matthew Hicks, the company's Renewable Investment Director, will lead its corporate venturing activities which has already made significant investments into a number of early stage renewable technology companies.
Jonathan Selwyn said: "Lark Energy has been a huge success story. In just five years it has grown from a start-up into one of the UK's leading solar developers and EPCs. It has achieved planning consent for more than 300MWp of solar farm projects, of which it has to date constructed over 150MWp. The company is less well-known, however, for its growing commercial rooftop and smaller ground mount business. This is why we are now establishing a new company, one which can focus fully on this exciting market. The future for the commercial rooftop market is promising and we are determined to be a leading player in the market and to that end we will be announcing some exciting initiatives in the coming weeks".
