BayWa R.e Opens Edinburgh Offices
The Lord Provost of the City of Edinburgh, The Rt. Hon. Donald Wilson, officially opened the new Edinburgh office of BayWa r.e. on Thursday, 6 November, 2014.
The newly formed BayWa r.e. Edinburgh team focuses on wind project development and construction as well as operations management of solar and wind projects. Eight jobs have been created to date, with additional roles expected in the coming year as the portfolio of investment opportunities continues to expand.
Commenting on the opening, CEO of BayWa r.e. Matthias Taft said, "The opening of the Edinburgh office is a significant milestone in our UK growth story, which to date has included wind and solar project acquisition, development and construction as well as photovoltaic (PV) component supply and distribution." To date, the BayWa r.e. group has installed onshore wind and solar projects in the UK with a total capacity of over 140MW and has a pipeline of over 300MW under development, whilst its PV supplier business continues to win awards for outstanding customer service and sales successes.
