Wagner Renewables Emerges As Full UK Company Following Restructure
West Sussex based renewables distributor Wagner Solar UK Ltd has re-launched as Wagner Renewables Ltd following the insolvency of group parent Wagner & Co. The company will continue with the same team as well as its TRIC mounting system which has recently achieved the MCS012 certification.
Speaking from their Chichester headquarters, managing director Mark Osborne "Wagner Solar UK Ltd occupied a unique position in the Wagner Group as the only subsidiary not wholly owned. We operated very independently from Wagner & Co in Germany and started 2014 with an impressive project pipeline with enquiries growing daily after Minister Barker opened up the medium-scale rooftop segment. The news in Germany is unfortunate for our colleagues and for the industry as a whole. Wagner & Co is one of the pioneering companies in the German solar sector and has played a big role in shaping the industry in Germany. For us, this is an opportunity to strengthen our autonomy and build on the early growth we have experienced in 2014."
Previously, Wagner Solar UK Ltd was set up as a joint-venture company following the merger of UK company AC Solartechnic and Wagner & Co in Germany. Each party had a 50% shareholding. The company was sharp at following market trends with its product portfolio which differed greatly from Germany.
Speaking to Solar UK the company said the new name was indicative of a developing platform of products that will cover more of the renewable energy market. Wagner Renewables has already added a heat pump to their product offerings and was keen to point out they are maintaining their goal to provide real technical knowledge in employing a heat pump expert to the team to respond to specific technical challenges.
Kamil Shah, Marketing Manager at Wagner Renewables discussed how the company see room for expansion but will focus on building the current portfolio after the disruption of the reorganisation but felt that the company and its employees were a much stronger unit after successfully moving away from the financial concerns of the German parent company.
Osborne continued on the subject of existing and new products, "We have a framework agreement in place to continue offering the popular TRIC mounting system and we will maintain our in-house design services particularly for commercial scale projects. For inverters and modules, watch this space, as we have several exciting announcements to make over the coming weeks."
