Welsh Project For 46,000 Solar Panels Given Go Ahead
EEW Eco Energy World has announced that a proposal for a Solar Farm at Tyle'r-fedwen Farm, Cwmafan was approved by the Neath Port Talbot Planning and Development Control Committee.
The solar farm will comprise of nearly 46,000 solar panels each measuring 1.65m x 0.99m. Once installed, the capacity will be 11.47MW peak, generating enough energy to power around 3500 average homes each year.
Councillors and Council planning officers agreed a range of conditions to protect local amenity including limiting construction deliveries to weekdays outside "˜school gate' hours, along established routes.
In addition, the applicants are committing a Community Fund of £10,400 a year, for the 25 year life of the project. There will also be around 50 construction jobs, with best endeavours to recruit workers and procure construction material locally.
