SuperSolar Funding For Perovskite Solar Cell Research
The EPSRC Supergen SuperSolar Hub has announced a call for research proposals to be submitted by 6th June 2014. The call follows the recent astonishing progress made at Oxford University in the development of organo-metal halide perovskite solar cells.
These new perovskite materials are capable of solution processing and application to flexible substrates including polymers. This makes these materials suitable for roll-to-roll manufacturing and deposition using low-cost printing techniques.
The SuperSolar Hub Director, Prof Michael Walls comments 'We have funding from EPSRC with flexibility in the way we use it. The UK is leading the world in this exciting field and we want to maintain that lead.
This call is aimed at any UK University research team that has ideas or capability that can assist the work being carried out at Oxford University'.
