Sputnik Expands UK Operations

News

Sputnik Engineering, the Swiss manufacturer of SolarMax inverters, is pushing ahead with its European expansion with a number of key additions to the UK sales team.

SolarMax has been active in the UK PV market since 2011, achieving significant success in the residential, commercial and utility-scale sectors. At a time when many European manufacturers in the PV sector are cutting back their operations, SolarMax's continued expansion is a signal of the company's bold ambitions to drive forward business growth in the important UK market.

The UK team will be led by experienced solar PV specialist Martin Allman who has been appointed Regional Manager North with responsibility for developing the business in the UK and Scandinavia. In recognition of the increasingly important distributor sales channel, Andrew Lycett joins as the UK Distribution Manager. The existing sales team is also further strengthened by the arrival of two additional experienced account managers, Erica Westmore and Steve Bingham.

Commenting on the company's expansion plan Martin Allman said: "Exciting times lie ahead for SolarMax as we continue to grow the UK business. We have a great portfolio of innovative, high quality inverter solutions which allow us to reach across all segments of the UK market, from small systems on homes to large utility scale solar farms. The new team will be working hard to introduce our product range to all of the leading PV installers and distributors throughout the UK."

After last year's successful launch of the SolarMax P-Series inverter range (output power from 2 to 5kW) for residential systems, 2014 will see the arrival of the new HT-Series string inverter (30 and 32kW) which will provide a market-leading solution for the fast-developing commercial rooftop market.
