Styles&Wood Completes Booths Store Project
Property project specialists Styles&Wood has completed the installation of a solar power system for supermarket chain Booths at its cold store distribution centre near Preston.
The project, which saw photovoltaic (PV) panels fitted to the roof of the building, is expected to save the food retailer up to £24,500 in its first year and cut CO2 emissions by 114 tonnes. The project will generate around 223,000kWh of electricity per year.
The six-week project was delivered by the group's specialist renewable energy division Styles&Wood Energy. The team provided a full end-to-end service, including the design and installation of the system as well as registering the scheme with Ofgem, in order for the business to be eligible to receive payments under the Feed-in-Tariff (FiT).

In September the business was appointed by Freetricity, the leading UK solar energy supplier, as installer for the largest roll-out of free domestic solar power in the country, in a scheme funded by Australian Investment Bank Macquarie.
