Solarlec Announces Sharp Partnership

News

Energy firm Solarlec took 40 of its employees to visit Sharp's UK solar manufacturing plant. The team, made up of the renewable energy company's directors, energy advisors and installers, spent the day at Sharp's European headquarters in Wrexham after being announced as one of a limited number of the electronics firm's approved UK partners.

Solarlec received a full factory tour and training session on the unique features and benefits of Sharp's solar products, which are all assembled in the UK.  Training included an insight into how products work, innovative processes used, quality control methods and the rigorous tests put in place to ensure only the highest quality modules reach customers.

Solarlec director Ged Rowbottom said, "It's heartening to see Sharp investing in its Wrexham plant and looking to expand its UK manufacturing base - this shows a positive outlook for the solar industry.

"Thanks to the quality standards and proven technology of their ultra-efficient panels the Wrexham plant is seen as a huge success for British manufacturing - other companies are now coming to Sharp to make their products for them here in the UK, which is fantastic to hear.

"Sharp are truly at the cutting edge of solar technology and we're honoured to work with them as approved partners and offer their incredible products to our customers. As their plant is UK-based, they enable us to offer a first class service and back-up to our customers - just one of many strengths of this great partnership."
