Company Head Joins Government Solar Think Tank
Rupert Higgin, Managing Director of TGE Group has been invited to sit on the 2013 UK Solar Finance & Bankability Group, part of the UK Solar Strategy Group set up by the Department of Energy & Climate Change (DECC).
The aims of this select group is to improve understanding of the solar sector among financiers & investors; improve access to financing for developers, installers and consumers whilst reducing the cost of solar development and installation. The group will advise the UK Solar Strategy group on financial related issues.
Rupert has led TGE Group since 2010 to become a leading renewable company employing over 70 people. In 2012, he was appointed to the British Photovoltaic Association (BPVA) board, the national trade association of the UK solar photovoltaic industry. With a degree in Management Science, his dedication to the solar industry was acknowledged in May this year with an invitation to join Climate Minister, Greg Barker, on a visit to Brussels to lobby the European Commission against proposed Chinese import duties.
"It is a great honour to be invited to join such an important solar strategy group," comments Rupert. "I am looking forward to helping drive solar PV forward so it continues to be a strong, vibrant and viable industry in the UK."
