Solarlec Impresses Local Politician With Energy Saving Facility
Energy firm Solarlec has been praised by East Lancs Chamber of Commerce following a visit to its Burnley headquarters by chief executive Mike Damms. Mike was given a tour of the facility by directors Ged Rowbottom and Nick Keighley to mark the installation of a large biomass boiler system, fitted to heat the building.
Solarlec, which employs around 100 people including in-house installation teams, invited the Chamber of Commerce to demonstrate how much money its members could save on energy bills - which Mike acknowledged was a growing concern for businesses.
Mike Damms said: "I'm extremely impressed by Solarlec - they're a great example of an East Lancashire business expanding and doing things very well.
"The rising cost of energy is a huge concern for all of our members and the savings to be made through renewables are substantial - we've already invited Solarlec to present at some of our regional meetings to give our members a clearer picture of the benefits that could be made by investing in renewable energy solutions."
Ged Rowbottom, director at Solarlec, said: "We were delighted to welcome Mike to our ever-expanding Burnley facility and we look forward to working even more closely with the Chamber in future to help its members benefit from lower energy bills and government subsidies."
