Renewable Resources Expand For Success
Rapidly-growing solar company Renewable Resources has appointed Mariano Costa as its Business Development Director.
Mariano, a specialist in both renewable energy and solar photovoltaic fields, was recently Corporate Accounts Manager (UK and Spain) at Sunpower Corporation.
Prior to that he was Country Manager UK and Ireland, Spain/Portugal for Solyndra. He has also worked in a wide range of roles with companies such as Kimberly Clark and Avnet across the US, South America and Europe.
In addition he has had Broadcasting Media and Venue Operations Management roles at four Olympic Games, working for the International Olympic Committee.
Mariano, who was born in Argentina and holds Electrical Engineering and Business qualifications from the US, said: "I am delighted to join Renewable Resources at such a pivotal time for it and also for our industry. I am convinced that Solar is the way forward for individuals and organisations as we look to power our future in the most effective way, both financially and ecologically.
RR Chief Executive Paul Gribben said: "Mariano brings a wealth of experience to the company and he will drive us forward as more and more organisations tap into the global message that Solar is the Future. Renewable Resources, which is based in New Lanark, Scotland, and Milton Keynes, last year reported a tenfold increase in turnover from £2m in 2011 to £21m in 2012.
Predictions are that this will rise to £25m this year.
The company is at the heart of the UK solar panel industry and it has a network of hundreds of contractors installing solar panels throughout the country. Its customers include Sainsbury's - with whom it has completed more than 100 projects - Rolls Royce and Heathrow Airport, with around 80% of the revenue booked from commercial and business customers.
