WINAICO UK Announces Yorkshire Deal
WINAICO UK has been selected as module supplier of a 190 kW system on a former airfield in Yorkshire. It is one of the North of England's biggest ground-mounted solar PV installation and has recently gone live at a farm near York. The 190 kW ground-mounted system was installed by Harrogate-based installer, Think Renewable Energy, and features no fewer than 790 WINAICO 240W solar panels and will generate electricity for Fridlington Farms at Sutton-on-the-Forest.
Think Renewables operations director, Jamie Warden, said the installation would provide energy security and cost savings for the farm. "Fridlington Farms is a major energy user and the electricity generated will help reduce operating costs."
He said "it's also increasingly the case that big name firms, who are keen to reduce their carbon footprint, prefer their suppliers to use green energy and this has certainly been an influencing factor here."
Gary Fuller, the UK Managing Director to WINAICO, said that the system is the first of many larger scale systems that will be installed in 2013 using WINAICO solar modules. "Our modules provide customers and end users with long term security due to the high quality production and manufacturing processes, and our unique insurance policy only furthers that security."
"Think Renewables are a company who are very careful about what they offer their customers and their decision to use WINAICO based on quality and not just price has been justified with this installation", Gary Fuller continued.
