£50M Supply Deal For A Shade Greener
A Shade Greener (ASG), a UK installer of Free Solar Panels, has signed a £50M supply deal with one of the world's largest producers of Solar Cells, JA Solar Holdings Co Ltd of Shanghai. Despite further cuts to the FIT Tariffs that came into effect on 1st August, ASG is still forging ahead with its Free Solar offer.
ASG and its group of companies now employ over 600 people, with the majority being in South Yorkshire "“ an area that has been devastated by the on going UK recession. The new deal demonstrates the company willingness to continue to develop the UK market.
Stewart Davies, Chairman says, "It's fantastic to be partnered with JA Solar. It is a huge company whose high-efficiency products are amongst the most powerful and cost-effective in the industry. It means that A Shade Greener can continue offering free solar for the foreseeable future. Despite the uncertainty that shrouded the Renewables industry after the drastic cuts in the FITs last October, and which resulted in virtually every other company withdrawing the supply of Free Solar, we continued. We've now installed over 11,000 free systems, and there is no reason why we can't double that."
ASG also announced a unique way to scout for new markets and real estate to expand the business. The company has also pledged to set aside 1% of the £50M deal, a total sum of £500,000, to reward the public to help them find suitable roofs for the free solar.
Davies added, "We've set up a scheme called Find a Roof which makes it easy for the public to spread the word about us and be generously rewarded for doing so. It's ground breaking and in these hard times we think it will also be well received."
