SMA Solar Technology To Support UK Clients
In response to the announcement of the British government to significantly cut feed-in tariffs for all small photovoltaic systems registered from December 12, 2011, SMA Solar Technology AG has diverted additional production output to the UK in order to provide for the fast delivery of all Sunny Boy and Sunny Tripower inverters ordered for the UK market.
Greg Barker, Minister for Energy and Climate Change, had launched a consultation paper suggesting to more than halve the feed-in tariffs for all new photovoltaic projects in Great Britain with a size of up to 250 kilowatts. Although the new tariffs should be introduced only on April 1, 2012, they would apply to all photovoltaic systems registered on or after December 12, 2011. Systems registered within this time period would receive the current feed-in tariffs until March 31, 2012 and would then move to the lower tariffs starting on April 1, 2012.
"With our highly flexible production, SMA is well positioned to quickly adapt to all market developments. Therefore, we have been able to divert additional production output to the UK and will deliver all ordered Sunny Boy and Sunny Tripower inverters on short notice. This will give installers enough time to have systems installed and registered before December 12", explains Henry Dziuba, Managing Director of SMA Solar UK Ltd.
