Tenesol Gains MCS Certification For UK Market
Company moves forward with UK plans
Tenesol, the global solar power provider, has received Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) approval. The company's advanced PV modules, which are manufactured in Europe, and installation services exceeded the required quality standards and can now be used in the UK market.
Quality is a major focus for Tenesol. The company's advanced production facility boasts some industry-leading capabilities including the only Electroluminescence machine in France and Tenesol's unique 52 stage panel checking process (considerably more than the standard 10 stage check).
Tenesol established a UK subsidiary at the start of 2011. The company's first UK installation is currently under construction. It is a 600 kWp rooftop system on the New York Stock Exchange Euronext (NYSEE) building in Greater London and will soon be completed.
Claude Escala, European Director of Tenesol, comments on the significant growth seen in the UK since the feed-in-tariff was announced in April, 2010.
"Many companies enter such markets looking to capitalise on a new incentive and make a quick buck," he says. "But, much like the products we supply, we are looking at the long term. Renewable energy is the future and solar power is a major part of it. What we need to do is help investors find the balance between a PV system that is built to make money and a PV system that improves the UK's renewable energy status, while also tackling issues such as Fuel Poverty. But it is still early days and the UK remains a hotbed of opportunity for PV expansion and innovation."
