The company is set to expand Indian operations.
Virtusa Corporation, a global information technology (IT) services company that provides IT consulting, technology implementation and application outsourcing services through an enhanced global delivery model, announced the further expansion of its Indian operations with the inauguration of a new facility at the DLF IT special economic zone (SEZ) in Chennai. This facility is part of Virtusa's Advanced Technology Centre in Chennai.
The new Chennai facility is Virtusa's fifth facility in India, with 60,000 square feet accommodating 650 employees. Globally, Virtusa has 4300 employees located across India, Sri Lanka, the U.S. and U.K. The new facility reinforces Virtusa's commitment to continue building its Indian operations by providing sustainable value to its clients.
This facility, which Virtusa has leased from DLF, features technology, including an eco-sensitive design, networking equipment and ample backup power, which eliminates technical disruptions and ensures trouble free operations. The DLF IT SEZ campus spans over 6.6 million square feet and 11 blocks near the Chennai central business district. Designed to synchronize new age workspace needs with intelligent planning, the DLF campus meets appropriate standards in structural design.
Speaking on the occasion of the new facility launch, Keith Modder, president, Asia and executive vice president, global services, said, “Chennai is a major commercial and industrial city with a rich talent pool, good infrastructure and excellent educational institutions. This centre further augments our already existing advanced technology centres in India. We leverage these capabilities to maintain and extend our leadership globally.”
