Deep UV Laser Producer Cymer Is To Build A New 24,000m2

Deep UV laser producer Cymer is to build a new 24,000m2 manufacturing facility for high-volume production, including the recently unveiled XL Series line, as part of a new business strategy. The XL sources use a dual-gas-discharge-chamber Master Oscillator Power Amplifier (MOPA) architecture.
Completion of Phase I and initial occupancy of the new building is scheduled
to occur in April 2003 and the final phase will be completed by Q3 2003. The
total cost of the building is currently estimated at $50mn.
The company also plans to "streamline" its corporate structure and
reapportion its personnel into three core groups: Lithography System
Solutions (LSS), Semiconductor Manufacturing Solutions (SMS) and Emerging
Technology and Applications (ETA).
