JEMI UK Ltd Celebrates Its 10th Anniversary At Semitool, Cambridge
JEMI UK Ltd was originally founded in April 1992 with the support of the Department for Trade & Industry. Dr Neil Downie was appointed as part-time CEO and the board of directors included Brian Beeston, Applied Materials; Dr Eric Don, Bio-Rad; Brian Cox, Leica Cambridge Ltd; John Sweet, Loadpoint Ltd; David Martyr, Lumonics Ltd and Allan Goodbrand, Oxford Plasma Technology Ltd.
Since 1992 JEMI UK has grown from strength to strength and is the leading association of manufacturers and suppliers and equipment, materials and services for the semiconductor production in the UK. JEMI UK currently has a membership of 63 active member companies throughout England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland. The membership represents a broad cross section of the supplier community to the Semiconductor Industry. Its aim is to promote the development of a strong UK infrastructure to support the growth of companies wishing to design, develop and manufacture semiconductor devices within the UK.
JEMI UK is the Joint Semiconductor Equipment and Materials Initiative whose administrative offices are located in Edinburgh, UK.
