Q3 Brings Net Profit To SEZ
SEZ Group made Q3 net sales of CHF51.2mn, compared with CHF78.3mn in Q3 2001. The quarter also resulted in a net profit of CHF5.6mn.
The same period last year saw net profits at CHF9.2mn. The quarter brought the company into profitability for the first nine months following a net loss in Q2 of CHF5.1mn. Net profits for the year so far stand at CHF3.5mn on net sales of CHF147.8mn. The comparable figures for 2001 are CHF32.4mn and CHF228.1mn.
The company reports that recent investments have mainly been in single wafer wet cleaning tools for 200mm. These sales are interpreted as being aimed at improving cost efficiencies. Orders for 300mm equipment has slowed, compared with H1 2002, but there have been no cancellations.
