Applied Nanotech Has Been Issued Two Patents
SI Diamond Technology subsidiary Applied Nanotech has been issued two
patents covering its HyFED (Hybrid Field Emission Display) concept
(Nos.6,411,020,
'The issuance of these patents is a very important strategic development
that significantly extends our carbon nanotube electron field emission
technology to potentially achieve very large thin and flat CRTs at a
relatively low cost,' says Dr Zvi Yaniv, president/CEO of Applied Nanotech.
A development team has successfully demonstrated a 4' monochrome HyFED proof
of concept on glass substrate. ANI is considering reorganising and enlarging
the international team to accelerate efforts to prove the suitability of
carbon nanotube electron emission technology for achieving affordable thin
and flat TVs with a diagonal larger than or equal to 60'.
