Sales And Order
The MUMPStart package is the first to combine the capabilities of MEMSCAP with its newly acquired US unit, formerly JDS Uniphases Cronos MEMS business unit.
The package provides a three-month license for MEMSCAPs MEMS Pro CAD tool suite, one day of software training, access to the CaMEL library of existing micro-electro-mechanical design elements, and space on the companys PolyMUMPs (multi-user MEMS processes) wafer runs.
To use MUMPStart, the customer creates a design using MEMS Pro and reserves a die location on a scheduled run through the web. The customer will also specify whether any additional post-processing is needed (at additional cost). Upon confirmation, the customer uploads the design to a designated ftp server and completes the design submission form. The customer then receives the chips about eight weeks later for orders that do not include any post processing. For orders with post processing customers should allow 10 weeks.
Pricing begins at $10,000. The package is available from MEMSCAP directly and from its distributors. The software can be shipped immediately.
Training is regularly scheduled. PolyMUMPs runs are currently ongoing and are also regularly scheduled.
Samsung Electronics will integrate Cognexs In-Sight 1700 wafer reader in all of its chip manufacturing plants in Hwasung, South Korea.
The Cognex In-Sight 1700 reads 2-D matrix, alphanumeric and bar codes inscribed on silicon wafers. Samsung will retrofit the In-Sight 1700 systems in order to identify and track wafers.
