Forecast Withdrawn

Swedish mask writing tool producer Micronic has withdrawn its forecast for 2002 and is to reduce costs. The company says that a weak semiconductor market continues to affect its customers. Micronic has been notified of a further push out in the shipment of the companys second Sigma system, planned for delivery in Q4, 2002.
Swedish mask writing tool producer Micronic has withdrawn its forecast for 2002 and is to reduce costs. The company says that a weak semiconductor market continues to affect its customers. Micronic has been notified of a further push out in the shipment of the companys second Sigma system, planned for delivery in Q4, 2002.


This, along with continued uncertainty in the semiconductor market, has prompted Micronics board of directors to withdraw its sales forecast for 2002. The earlier forecast was for sales to be in line with last year´s sales (SEK699mn). Net sales for the period January-September 2002 amounted to SEK314mn.


The total cost for external consultants has been reduced and the number of employees is being reduced by 10%.
