Carbon Nanotube Link To DNA
Scientist from the Delft University of Technology have been working on coupling peptide nucleic acid (PNA) - a relative on DNA - to single walled carbon nanotubes/SWNTs (Nature, December 19/26, 2002).
Scientist from the Delft University of Technology have been working on coupling peptide nucleic acid (PNA) - a relative on DNA - to single walled carbon nanotubes/SWNTs (Nature, December 19/26, 2002).
One aim of the work is to support efforts in "bottom up" construction of nanostructures based on chemical self assembly. The PNA can be linked with DNA structures. Attachment of the organic molecules occurs predominantly at or near the nanotube ends.
