Tokyo Electron Arizona (TAZ) has settled its claims of misappropriation of trade secrets and other claims against New Horizon Machine - a supplier of replacement parts that was named in pending US litigation.
In the lawsuit, TAZ alleges that Discreet Industries stole TAZs designs for replacement parts used in TAZ Eclipse sputtering tools and corrupted TAZs confidential supplier network. The settlement leaves Discreet Industries and its president, Ovadia Meron, as lone defendants in the case.
TAZ has in all entered into four separate settlements with replacement parts suppliers in the case - Hummel Machine and Tool (Bulletin 451, September 20, 2002), Gilbert Precision Machine (Bulletin 460, November 26, 2002), an unnamed supplier and New Horizon Machine.
Jerry Adomshick, TAZs president, comments: "With these settlements in place, TAZ has successfully severed 85% to 90% of the illegal flow of qualified but pirated parts to Discreet."
