Intel released its Q4 and 2002 financial results along with expenditure projections.
R&D spending is set to equal last years figure of $4.0bn. Capital expenditure is due to be reduced from 2001s $4.7bn to $3.5-3.9bn. This will be targeted at the greater efficiency and low costs provided by 300mm manufacturing.
Q4 sales were up 3% on the previous year at $7.2bn. Net income for the quarter was up 108% on 2001 at $1.0bn. Full year sales were up 1% at $26.8bn and net income grew 141% to $1.3bn.
The current quarter is expected to bring sales of $6.5-7.0bn.
