IC Insights reported its Top Ten semiconductor companies in terms of
sales.
IC Insights reported its Top Ten semiconductor companies in terms of sales. Intel comes top with $23.99bn, Samsung has the No.2 spot with $8.73bn and Texas Instruments was third with $6.50bn. Europes STMicroelectronics had sales of $6.35bn to gain the next place. Infineon Technologies was No.7 with $5.36bn. Taiwan foundry TSMC entered the list at No.10 with $4.66bn making it the first ever Taiwan company to make the Top Ten grade.
The Economist Intelligence Unit reports global semiconductor sales up 1.1% in 2002. The unit is expecting 2003 to show a 26.2% increase. This will be based on modest recovery in world growth and higher capacity utilisation in fabs.
