Amkor Technology is to provide subcontractor assembly facilities for Texas
Instruments Digital Light Processing (DLP) technology used in projection
display systems.
Amkor Technology is to provide subcontractor assembly facilities for Texas
Instruments Digital Light Processing (DLP) technology used in projection
display systems. In particular, Amkor will assemble and test the full
range of DMD (Digital Micromirror Device) semiconductor devices based on a
new 200mm fabrication process. The DMD switch has an array of up to 1.31mn
hinged, microscopic mirrors, which operate as optical switches to create a
high resolution, full colour image. DMD wafers will also continue to be
manufactured at TIs own facilities.
