JMAR Technologies is to reorganise and sell some operations. JMAR Research, JMAR/SAL NanoLithography, and JMAR Semiconductor will be merged into one corporation with three divisions (Research, Systems and Microelectronics, respectively). JMAR Precision Systems - a motion and metrology equipment manufacturing operation - will be sold.

JMAR Technologies is to reorganise and sell some operations. JMAR
Research, JMAR/SAL NanoLithography, and JMAR Semiconductor will be merged
into one corporation with three divisions (Research, Systems and
Microelectronics, respectively). JMAR Precision Systems - a motion and
metrology equipment manufacturing operation - will be sold.
The reorganisation will focus the companys efforts on its advanced
lasers, Collimated Plasma Lithography (CPL) systems and related
technologies. CPL is a non-optical, proximity x-ray lithography systems
aimed at sub-100nm resolutions.
The Microelectronics division will provide process integration and
maintenance support for the Defense Microelectronics Activitys
semiconductor fabrication facility in Sacramento and ASIC design and
production capability for the military and commercial markets.

Aixtron is to reduce its workforce due to "lack of visibility or prospect
of immediate recovery of investment confidence" and "to protect the long
term future of the business".
