Growth Of New Solar Recycling Business
Scunthorpe-based Recycle Solar Technologies, the UK's only solar PV recycling service, is on track to expand after receiving a £1,000 grant from the UK Steel Enterprise (UKSE) Kickstart Fund.
The UKSE grant "“ which has funded the legal fees and environmental compliance procedures associated with a young business "“ has also allowed Recycle Solar Technologies to invest in a website, vital for expanding its reach and engaging new customers.
Founded in December 2016, Recycle Solar Technologies recovers and recycles solar equipment from across the UK and Ireland. Specialising in the recycling of green renewable energy products, the team at Recycle Solar Technologies are entrusted by large blue-chip enterprises to process their green energy waste streams in a safe and compliant manner.
Having recently moved into a 50,000 sq ft premises in Scunthorpe, which includes an extensive outdoor storage area, Recycle Solar Technologies has ambitious plans for growth, hoping to increase the size of their team three-fold over the next three years.
Dave Ellse, Marketing Director at Recycle Solar Technologies, has commented: "The funding from UKSE has been instrumental to our expansion as we are already seeing how the new website can attract custom and raise awareness across the UK of our unique services.
"The market we are targeting is continually expanding as solar panels and renewable energy sources are becoming increasingly popular. With an eye on future growth our new premises therefore give us vital room to expand when the time comes."
Launched in February 2016 the UKSE Kickstart Fund "“ working in partnership with North Lincolnshire Council and the Growth Hub to support those looking to establish a business in the area "“ provides grants of between £500 and £1,000.
Applicants also receive help and advice from local Growth Hub advisors and the Economic Development team at North Lincolnshire Council.
Alan Stanley, from UKSE commented: "We are proud to have supported Recycle Solar Technologies and wish them the best of luck in their new premises. It's great to see that they have chosen North Lincolnshire as their permanent location and we look forward to following their journey as their business develops."
