Flixborough Expand Network Of Sustainability Professionals

News

A multi award-winning North Lincolnshire-based sustainability business is on track to increase its workforce and broaden its services over the next 12 months following a £100,000 investment from UK Steel Enterprise (UKSE).

Flixborough Eco Technologies, the only firm in North Lincolnshire with Carbon Trust accreditation for the installation of heat pumps, LED lighting and Solar PV - named the Best Energy Management Company in the Yorkshire and Humber Enterprise Awards 2017, winner of both the North Lincolnshire New Business of the Year Award in 2015 the Excellence in Energy Saving Technology Solutions Award 2017 - secured the UKSE investment earlier this year, awarded to assist with job creation and training.

The investment will be used to develop a network of sustainability professionals at the company, the purchase of additional hard and software, and marketing support to enable significant and ongoing growth for the business. Established in 2012, Flixborough Eco Tech Ltd is headed up by Giles Barker, an experienced construction and sustainability professional, working alongside Stuart Turner, who joined the business as Technical Director in 2014 and Customer Relationship Manager Sheralee Thompson. The funding from UKSE has allowed for the appointment of Office Manager Jolene Law, bringing new skills to the business as it continues to market for its diverse Client base. Speaking of the investment deal, Managing Director Giles Barker, said:

"The funding has been vital to our continued growth and expansion, and has really helped us to drive the business forward as we continue to increase our regional and national scope. "It is of key importance to us as a business to invest in the North Lincolnshire region, and with the funding provided by UKSE we have been able to invest in a local subcontract network of sustainability professionals, vital to our expansion and allowing us to meet the continued demand from clientele in the area." Alan Stanley from UKSE said:

"Giles has built Flixborough Eco Technologies Ltd up from a start up to a rapidly expanding business with numerous corporate clients in less than five years, and we are delighted to have provided this investment to assist with further growth and job creation in the Scunthorpe & North Lincolnshire area." A subsidiary of Tata Steel, UK Steel Enterprise provides equity and loan finance to growing companies.
