Solarcentury's Dr. Andrew Crossland Wins 'Rising Star' Award
Solarcentury's Dr Andrew Crossland has been crowned 'Rising Star' of the year at the Energy UK Young Energy Professionals Forum awards. This prestigious award recognises the immense contribution that Andrew has already made to the energy storage sector, including his role in winning the Solarcentury tender for two ground-breaking projects in Eritrea and in helping to set up Solarcentury's home energy storage programme with IKEA. The award also recognises Andrew's wider involvement in the energy industry, both as a published academic and through his website MyGridGB.
Dr Crossland said: "I am absolutely thrilled to be presented with this 'Rising Star' award. The judges highlighted my role in developing Solarcentury's energy storage and flexibility projects, my academic engagement with the Durham Energy Institute and my broad energy experience, including through MyGridGB. I'm really looking forward to building on this award by delivering more exciting and innovative solar and, storage and flexibility projects at Solarcentury and helping to turn this exciting new sector in the UK into the mainstream."
Seb Berry Head of External Affairs at Solarcentury said: "As Solarcentury continues to expand internationally, Andrew's leadership role in the rapidly developing storage sector will also be key to helping us win new opportunities in multiple markets. We're absolutely delighted, but not surprised, that Andrew's talents have also now been recognised by the wider industry."
