Lightsource Adds 5MW Solar Plant To Portfolio With Latest Acquisition
Lightsource Renewable Energy has completed the purchase of a 5MW ground-mount solar PV plant.
In a deal led by the Lightsource acquisition team, the company purchased Wick Solar Farm, in Lympsham, Somerset, which was built under the Feed-in-Tariff (FIT) subsidy regime by Gamma Energy.
Originally part of a larger project, the Wick Farm solar site purchased by Lightsource is the commercial element of a larger Communities for Renewables CIC project.
Lightsource has already completed a number of portfolio purchases in 2017 and its acquisition team is actively looking for FIT and ROC assets in the UK "“ from single projects to solar portfolios of any size.
Conor McGuigan, Director of Acquisitions at Lightsource, said: "Our success in reaching more than 1.7GW in operational assets has come through a blend of acquisitions and in-house development and we are actively seeking new opportunities here in the UK and further afield. We're interested in assets of all sizes and we have already completed several deals this year. It's a competitive marketplace both for rooftop and utility-scale solar plant, but our appetite for new opportunities remains strong."
