Solaredge Expand Product Portfolio For UK Solar Market

News

SolarEdge Technologies, a provider of power optimisers and PV inverters, has announced  the expansion of its product portfolio for the UK solar market.

Following a successful 2013, SolarEdge is increasing the mainstream usage of SolarEdge module-level electronics and inverters in both the residential and commercial sectors of the UK PV market through an expanded product offering.

Building upon its achievements in the UK commercial market, SolarEdge is launching a number of new products to further improve the financials and energy yield of commercial PV installations.

Designed as one power optimiser for two 72-cell PV modules, the P700 power optimiser, the company believes, provides a cost-effective solution for commercial PV installations, while offering module-level monitoring, flexible design for maximum space utilization, and increased energy yield.

The P600 power optimiser now also works with SE15k SolarEdge inverters to support small commercial systems.

With a view to strengthening its residential offering for even smaller roofs, SolarEdge is now offering a new power optimiser that allows reducing the minimum string length with all residential inverters to six modules. This expansion allows UK installers to use the SolarEdge solution in all types of residential PV systems.

"With new products for both residential and commercial sectors, SolarEdge is poised to become a leading player in the UK PV market," stated Zvi Lando, VP of Global Sales, from SolarEdge's new London offices, located in Euston. "Now that it is clear that module-level electronics are the optimal solution for all system types and sizes, installers can install SolarEdge on all of their customers' systems "“ from a mini residential system to a large PV plant."

SolarEdge recently announced a few significant and symbolic commercial installations in the UK. Installed by Ecolution Renewables, Cambridge University's 78.5 kW PV system used SolarEdge power optimisers and inverters primarily as design flexibility allowed for an aesthetic PV system that complements the unique architectural structure of the building.

In Aldershot, a 512 kWP project was under-performing with a standard string inverter. After Empower Energy installed SolarEdge power optimisers and inverters as part of a retrofit solution, the system owner saw an increase in energy yield and decided to expand its portfolio with the installer to 1.37 MW of SolarEdge systems.
